Queen Atlanna is a significant character in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), primarily known for her role in the Aquaman franchise. She is the former Queen of Atlantis and mother to Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman.

Atlanna, portrayed by Nicole Kidman, defied Atlantean law by falling in love with Thomas Curry, a human lighthouse keeper. This union resulted in the birth of Arthur, a half-human, half-Atlantean hybrid who possesses unique abilities.

To protect her family and Atlantis from the consequences of her actions, Atlanna returned to her kingdom, leaving Arthur to be raised by his father. She endured a forced marriage and bore another son, Orm Marius, Aquaman's half-brother and eventual rival.

Believed to be deceased, Atlanna was later revealed to be alive, trapped in a section of the ocean thought lost. She is depicted as a skilled warrior and a strong, independent leader, deeply committed to both her Atlantean heritage and her love for her son, Arthur.
